What shall I wear? I don’t have what it takes to complete a pending task. Am I ready for the next move? Where will I be in the next 5 years? Will I find a hobby? WIll I ever lose weight? What shall I name my cat or dog? What do you mean that there is no pasta?
So many questions, we all ask ourselves, especially at the beginning of the year. Making ourselves feel anxious and afraid – overtly worried about worse case scenarios which have not taken place.
There is this reassuring verse in the bible – the book of Psalms. It says, in essence, why should we worry – look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet God feeds them. I believe in God’s love. I believe that things will ultimately work out for the better.
This year may we let go of things which deplete us. May we be kind to ourselves and others and trust in the process.
Essentially important is living a life of intentionality. Setting measurable goals around our emotional, mental, financial, spiritual and physical wellbeing and then achieving them – setting ourselves up for more joy and freedom.
Life is beautiful. Step by step.
