Gratitude for the great parents in the world
I’m always inspired by stories of parents, including single parents, who rise above immense challenges to support their children. Despite facing tough circumstances—like living in neighborhoods impacted by poverty, violence, or drugs—they find ways to overcome hopelessness and create brighter futures for their families.
Recently, I came across the story of a young man who achieved remarkable success in boxing. His secret? A father who recognized his talent at just four years old and nurtured it, despite the difficulties of their tough environment.
How did this father nurture his son’s talent and strengthen their bond?
- He trained with him at home.
- Attended his boxing matches.
- Shared meals together, fostering connection.
- Kept him focused and instilled purpose through rigorous training, steering him away from trouble.
- Built faith in him.
Not everyone is fortunate to have such supportive parents, but stories like these remind us of the transformative power of parental investment. They show that even in the most challenging circumstances, hope and opportunity can thrive.
These stories also challenge us to fill our lives with purpose, ensuring we use our currency of time wisely—building a better tomorrow for ourselves and others, rather than wasting it on things that don’t add value. It’s never too late to improve our lives.
Wishing the young man every success and may he remain grounded and humble. May the light continue to shine on him.
One life – live it with kindness, courage, and intentionality.
xx
