Community: Choose peace
Sometimes, you will encounter someone whose values and character are entirely different from yours. They may even say something that tempts you to respond in frustration or anger. So, how should you handle these challenging interactions?
Here’s how to engage thoughtfully:
- Pause before you respond. Resist the urge to reply in the heat of the moment, as heightened emotions can cloud your judgment and tone.
- Take your time. If needed, wait a day or more before responding. Write your reply, then set it aside. Revisit it later with fresh eyes, and make adjustments before sending it.
- Breathe and release it. Sometimes, the best response is to let go of the negativity entirely.
Remember:
“Anything or anyone that steals your joy and peace doesn’t deserve space in your mind.”
Difficult moments, though unpleasant, can be gifts in disguise. They help us reflect on what led to the encounter and teach us how to protect our peace in the future.
Life is too short to dwell on negativity.
Live with kindness, courage, and intentionality.
