Community: Good company?

” Bad company corrupts good character” 1 Corinthians 15:33

Do you ever take a moment to reflect on the people in your life? Are they helping you move forward toward a bright future, or are they subtly steering you down a less promising path? Here are three questions to help you assess the quality of your close community:

  1. Are your conversations, interactions, and friendships all within the same profession, culture, or environment? While it’s comforting to be around people with shared interests and temperaments, connecting with diverse, and thriving individuals outside your usual circles can bring new insights and opportunities.
  2. Do the people around you uplift you? Do their words and actions encourage you to grow and pursue your purpose?
  3. Do you invest in your friendships with your time, skills, and energy? If not, you may find that some friendships lack mutual support. Consider what might be holding you back from being the friend you wish to have.

Life is precious. Make time to nurture relationships that inspire you to grow and bring out your best.

One life – live it with kindness, gratitude, intentionality, and courage.
