Joy found in the ordinary days
Rarely do I wake up in the morning not looking forward to the day. But today felt different.
After a night of broken sleep — my little one unwell and needing extra comfort — I found myself wishing for a slower, softer start before the demands of work came knocking.
“On days like this, it feels even more important to be compassionate with ourselves. To let go of the grip of pressure just a little — to not let an email or a deadline carry more weight than it needs to. Because somehow, things do always tend to work out”
I’m learning that this joyful mindset doesn’t just show up — it’s something we practice. Every day, I’m trying to lower my stress by putting less on my plate, and by finding small moments of joy in the ordinary… like my husband’s delicious (and healthy!) chocolate smoothie.
Have you had days like this? How do you find joy in the ordinary?
One life — let’s live it with joy and courage.
