Leading with Kindness: waking up for purpose
A good friend of mine woke up early one Sunday to bake a cake for her church social. She didn’t have to — something from a local supermarket or bakery would have been more than enough.
But she chose to give her time.
She chose to wake a little earlier and bake a beautiful orange sponge cake from scratch.
Every few months, I help serve cake and refreshments… and this happened to be the Sunday I was serving Sarah’s cake. I watched as people’s faces lit up. It was generous, thoughtfully presented, and clearly made with care. It disappeared quickly — always a good sign.
But it wasn’t just about the cake.
“It was about the intention behind it. The quiet decision to do something a little extra. To bring a bit of joy to others. To turn an ordinary Sunday into something just that little bit more special”
She woke up with purpose — and shared that with everyone in the room.
A simple act. A kind act.
One life — live it with kindness, courage, and joy.
Thanks for reading.
