This week’s kindness tip
On the last Sunday of 2020… here are some reflections on friendship.
Continue to nurture healthy friendships: Over the last 12 months, we saw Covid -19 intentionally and unintentially change friendships by making them stronger or even causing them to fall apart. Overall, a stronger and long lasting friendship e.g in the personal and work space requires measured time and effort. Friendships also require generosity, hard work, love and loyalty.
“What draws people to be friends is that they see the same truth. They share it.” CS Lewis
So how to build healthy friendships:
- Connect with a friend or a group of friends once a week- definitely monthly following social distance rules of course. A friend can sense if a call or meet-up is transitional, so make time to speak to a friend when e.g you have eaten or are not too tired or busy to have a quality conversation.
- Remember key milestones in a friend’s life e.g their wedding anniversary or birthday. Make an effort to send him or her a message on the day. Every bit of kindness counts…
One life – live it kinder.
Wishing everyone, a wonderful New Year.
Stay well.
