Leading with kindness: reach out to your mum or sister
Some of us have wonderful relationships with our mothers. Others carry more complicated stories.
Irrespective of whether our experiences were filled with sunshine or storms, many of us have learned something from our mothers — or from someone who has been a motherly figure in our lives. Including the courageous women who have done incredible things before us in the field of human rights, sports, motherhood, education, tech, and so many other important fields.
And for many of us, our sisters — or sisterly figures — have also walked alongside us, sharing life’s ups and downs, offering support, laughter, and understanding in their own unique way.
“If one of these women is still in your life, consider giving them a call today. A small act of kindness to acknowledge the role they have played in your journey”
In many ways, International Women’s Day is also a moment to reflect on the women who have shaped us — mothers, sisters, mentors, and motherly figures whose wisdom, strength, and care have guided us along the way.
Be kind. Reach out. Call or message your mother, sister, or someone who has been that presence for you.
Your kindness will go further than you can imagine.
