A kinder weekend
People spend their weekends in different ways—some sleep in, while others wake up early to exercise, garden, or take their kids out. Some enjoy shopping, catching up on their favorite shows, cooking a complex meal, or getting lost in a good book. There are endless ways to spend our weekends.
This morning, I completed the second last module of an online course on a subject I find very interesting personally and in my work life. Waking up early to do it wasn’t exactly enjoyable at first, but now that it’s done, I feel a sense of accomplishment and have the mental space to fully enjoy the rest of my weekend.
Action:
With so much competing for our attention, let us be intentional about how we spend our time. This weekend, prioritize tackling one important task in the morning and a lighter one in the evening—leaving the rest of the day open for relaxation and enjoyment. Our tasks could be as simple as sending 3 thoughtful messages to loved ones or planning a fun family social for the following week.
Let’s have kinder weekends. It just takes some effort, but worthwhile in the long run.
One life, live it with kindness and courage.
xx
